Who wrote the grocery list this week?
Be honest. Same person as last week.
Most homes have one person carrying the whole plan in their head: what's for dinner, what's in the pantry, whose turn it is. StayWell puts that plan on everyone's phone so it stops living in one person's head.
How it works

Features
Everything the house runs on, in one place
One app for your recipes, the weekly meal plan and snacks, the grocery run, your pantry and deliveries, chores and the family calendar, shared with everyone in your home.
AI meal planning
Plan the whole week in one tap.
"What should we have for dinner this week?" comes back every single week, and it wears you down. StayWell plans breakfast, lunch and dinner for the whole week, from your favorite meals or brand-new ones. Approve it and dinner is handled. From the first meal to the last item on your shopping list takes less than 5 minutes.
Every week starts with a blank plan and the same tired question.
Tap Plan Meals and StayWell fills the week, using your favorites or coming up with new ones. Approve it and you're done.
Something on the plan doesn't sound good this week.
Swap it out. Nothing is locked in.
You already know Monday is taco night.
Plan any day yourself, or split the planning with your partner. StayWell only fills in the days you haven't planned yet.
Snacks are their own daily question, and the toddler and the grown-ups want different things.
Everyone in the household has a profile with their snacks, so StayWell helps plan snacks for everyone, whatever their age.
AI meal plans, smart swaps and snack planning are part of StayWell Pro.
Family cookbook
All your recipes, in one place.
Save your favorites, import them from any link, or scan them straight from your cookbooks. Then StayWell plans your week from the meals you already love.
Recipes are everywhere: cookbooks on the shelf, screenshots, bookmarks, a blog you can't find again.
Scan recipes from your cookbooks and save the ones you love online. They all live in your StayWell cookbook, so you never hunt for a recipe again.
Your family's best recipe lives in an old text thread.
Send your original recipes to friends and family right from StayWell, and they can save them to their own cookbook.
Recipe scanning from photos is part of StayWell Pro.
Smart grocery list
Your grocery list writes itself.
No more flipping through every recipe and digging through the pantry to write a list. StayWell reads your meal plan and asks what you need from every recipe. Add items one at a time, or every ingredient for the week in one tap.
Writing the list means going recipe by recipe and checking every cupboard.
StayWell pulls every ingredient from your meal plan and shows which meals it's for. You just answer what you need.
You come home with a third jar of cumin because nobody checked.
Already have it? Tap the home button and it comes off the list.
The total at checkout is a surprise every week.
Enter what something costs once and StayWell remembers it. It estimates your cart so you can shop within your budget.
Your partner calls from the store: "Which one?"
Snap a photo of the item so they grab the right one, down to the exact eyebrow pencil.
The shopping list that fills itself from your plan, cart estimates and item photos are part of StayWell Pro.
Pantry tracker
Know what's running low.
Most of what a family runs out of isn't on a recipe. Diapers, conditioner, protein powder, coffee. Keep the essentials you always want on hand in the Pantry and see what's stocked, low or out before you shop.
You find out you're out of diapers when you reach for the last one.
Mark each essential stocked, low or out. Anything low or out is added to your shopping list automatically.
"Which conditioner do we use again?"
Add a reference photo to any pantry item, so whoever's shopping gets the right one.
Reference photos for pantry items are part of StayWell Pro.
Deliveries & subscriptions
Never miss a delivery.
Packages and subscriptions, tracked in one place, so nothing runs out by surprise and nothing gets bought twice.
Ten things coming from ten places, and no idea when any of it arrives.
Coming keeps all your deliveries and subscriptions in one place, so you can see when everything is coming.
You buy more protein powder, and your subscription shows up two days later.
Check what's on the way before you buy. Common subscriptions include their links, or add your own URL, so one tap takes you to the page where you manage it.
Chore tracker
Everyone pitches in. Finally.
When chores live in one person's head, they stay open like browser tabs until someone takes full ownership. StayWell puts them where everyone can see them, so it's clear who's handling what.
One person sees the mess and can't relax until it's done.
Assign a chore and it becomes someone's specific job, visible on everyone's phone, so the tab can close.
Some chores don't really belong to anyone, so they don't get done.
Leave a chore unassigned and it shows up on everyone's list. First one to grab it does it.
The same person gets stuck with the same chores every week.
Chores can rotate between people, so nobody gets the bathrooms forever.
Trash night and changing the sheets depend on someone remembering.
Set chores to repeat when you want them to: daily, weekly, monthly or every couple of weeks.
Shared calendar
One calendar for the whole house.
Pencil in plans, and confirm them when they're set. Tentative plans let you share what you're thinking about as soon as it comes up, so the conversation happens before anyone commits.
You forget to mention a plan until the day before, and now it's a bad time to bring it up.
Add it as a tentative plan the moment it comes up. Your partner gets a notification right away.
Mentioning something feels like you've already said yes.
Tentative means "I'm thinking about this," not "it's decided." It opens the door to a conversation.
You never know if they saw it.
Your partner confirms the plan, so you know they saw it and they're on board.
Your phone calendars won't sync both ways.
One shared StayWell calendar shows the same plans on everyone's phone.
Bring your household in
Running the house shouldn't be a one‑person job
Household sharing keeps meals, groceries, chores and the calendar in sync on everyone's phone. Inviting your partner, or anyone else in your home, takes under a minute, and they don't need their own subscription. Family members without a phone, like little kids, can have a profile instead.
Household sharing is part of StayWell Pro.
Step 1 · On the household owner's phone
Step 2 · Send them the 6‑character code (example)
Codes expire after 24 hours.
Step 3 · On their phone, enter the code

Our story
We wanted to parent as a team
StayWell started as two shared notes between a husband and wife trying to carry the load together. Here's how it began, from both sides.
A year at home
After we had a kid or two, we knew we wanted to do this together. We wanted to be a team. We believe we each have distinct roles in our family, and that as equal partners we have a responsibility to help each other in those roles. We didn't want one of us carrying everything alone.
My wife wanted to finish her master's degree so she could work from home while our kids were young. My work was gracious enough to let me go part-time, so she went back to work full-time and I stayed home with the kids.
That year, I realized there was a lot I just didn't naturally keep track of. I played with the kids and fed them, but I'd forget things at the store. I remember using our very last diaper. When my wife came home and asked where the diapers were, I said, "I used the last one. They're gone." I felt so embarrassed in that moment.
"What should we eat this week?"
Even before kids, meal planning was a mental block for us. We'd both get home from work, one of us would ask what we wanted for dinner, and nothing sounded good. I didn't have the capacity to think about one more thing.
So I started keeping a list of meals we liked. Every time we tried something new and loved it, it went on the list. When we planned the week, I'd read it off like a menu: "Anything sound good?" Choosing from a menu was easy. Coming up with a plan from scratch was what I hated.
Shopping wasn't much better. With little kids, we'd go to the store for milk, get everything else, and walk out without the milk. Another trip with little kids is no small thing.
Ten things from ten places
Like a lot of young families, we hunted for the cheapest price, so our protein powder came from one place, groceries from another, and a pile of subscriptions from somewhere else. We'd buy more protein powder, then our subscription would show up two days later and we'd have twice what we needed. Other times we'd skip the store because an order was "coming soon," it didn't come, and we ate out for weeks. We never really knew when we were out of something.
Tabs that wouldn't close
Then there were chores. My wife was always stressed, and I didn't understand why. I'd see a mess at night and plan to get to it in the morning, because I wanted to spend time with her. But she couldn't relax until it was done, so when I sat down, she got up and did it herself. I was confused, and she was exhausted.
Unless I took full ownership of something, it stayed open in her mind like a browser tab that couldn't close.
And she had so many tabs open: our finances, the kids' needs and schedules, work, everything. Some stayed open for weeks. I never knew they were there.
So we started another shared note: the things that mattered to her and the things I was focused on. Once I could see her list, I could take things off it. She could see what mattered to me, too. We started sharing the load, the invisible load neither of us realized the other was carrying.
From two notes to an app
Reading down our meal list every week, I thought, why not have something just hand me five meals for the week, and five different ones next week? With AI, surely we could do that. The more we thought about it, the more we wanted our chores in the same place.
Then the calendar. My wife doesn't like surprises, but I wouldn't think to bring something up until the deadline, when she had no time to plan. Our phone calendars wouldn't even sync both ways. So we built one into StayWell, with one thing we really needed: tentative plans. If a friend and I talk about dinner, I can put it on the calendar as tentative. She gets a notification, and it opens the door to a conversation early, before anyone has committed to anything. It works the other way too. If she wants to get to the gym, she can tentatively plan it, and I can confirm it so she knows I saw it. I'm all for it, and I'll take care of everything at home so she can go.
How StayWell was born
It became a tool for us to communicate better. With so much going on, it was nice to have something that helped us offload some of the mental load so we could focus on what matters most. It also gave us ways to support each other and share the load together.
If you don't share the load, it quietly falls on one person. It's invisible, and that's how couples end up not on the same page.
StayWell has changed our family. It supports us as we try to have the best marriage, family and home we can. That's how StayWell was born.
Our mission
Helping every household share the load, and share it better.
StayWell carries some of that load for you, and helps you see and share the rest with each other.
Her side
[Your wife's perspective: what that season felt like for her, the open tabs, finishing her master's, and what changed once you were sharing the load.]
We'll weave both sides into one founder story once hers is in.
